Handmade clothing with a smaller footprint

Handmade clothing
I use recycled cotton thread and buttons are made from either recycled plastic, wood, coconut shells, or thrifted from Community Projects in Napa. While my fabric varies by project, any new fabric that I purchase is either made from organic natural fibers or has at least one of the following certifications: BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), Green Shirt Ranking by Canopy, ECOVERO, OEKO-TEX Certified. I occasionally find fabric at Community Projects in Napa or at estate sales that I use when possible.
I save the scraps from my projects to use in clothing repair, quilting, or art.
Every piece is a labor of love and the only one of its kind.
Not just new clothing

Clothing repair
Instead of tossing out your worn-out jeans or jackets, consider getting them repaired!

Adding flare to a piece that has gotten stale
It feels nice to freshen up the ‘ol wardrobe. One way to do that is to add new touches to old pieces! I can sew on new sleeves, add stripes, and more.

Embroidery
Add some fun personalization with embroidered flare, which can be added to current pieces or added to pieces in my shop or custom shirts
Other Considerations for the Environment
I'm a huge fan of our amazing planet! Most of my favorite things involve nature, and I'm always looking to find new ways to reduce my environmental impact.
In addition to trying to sourcing primarily "sustainable" fabric and notions, please note these other ways in your purchase supports the environment.
Seed paper
The paper tags attached to my clothing are made from seed paper, which is biodegradable and filled with wildflower seeds! Labels contain a blend of Catchfly (Silene armeria), Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima), Snapdragon (Linaria maroccana), Bird’s Eye (Gila tricolor), Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), and Clarkia (Clarkia unguiculata).
Below are the steps for planting.
STEP 1: Plant seed paper about 1/8 inch deep in well-draining potting soil
STEP 2: Water thoroughly until the soil is evenly moist. Avoid over watering to the point of pooling.
STEP 3: Make sure it gets plenty of sunlight and stays consistently moist during germination. Enjoy your flowers!
Algae Ink
Everything stamped and written on my paper tags use algae ink! (Did you know that most of the ink that we use is petroleum - based?)
This ink is better for people and the planet. Algae ink is actually carbon-sequestering, biodegradable, and renewable.
